World Spacemodeling Championships

The NAR has been awarded the opportunity to host the world model rocket competition community for the biennial FAI World Spacemodeling Championships in 2023. THis is the first time since 1992 that this event has been held in the USA.  This big international event, the "Olympics" of rocketry, will be held near Austin, TX from July 1 to July 8, 2023. Putting on an event of this magnitude takes a lot of volunteers as staff, and we need help to ensure that this is a world class event that does the NAR and the USA proud.  Read about the event on the NAR website at Apache Pass Event Center

The primary volunteer need is for timers, and timing models in international competition is just about the same as timing them in NAR or TARC competition. Anybody with good eyesight who can spend a few days standing outdoors can do this. We need 25 timers every day from July 2 through July 7. If you would like to be one, please contact Trip Barber at ahbarber@alum.mit.edu for details.
